2016+ Camaro manual shifter went sloppy and won't return to center? Can you still move the shifter left and right even when it's in gear? Maybe you can't get into reverse?

Your Chevy Camaro transmission shift linkage bushings are worn. But there's good news. Instead of paying the dealer $2k to install a new shifter (parts 24045654 or 24288057), you can install these upgraded full metal camaro bushings in 1 hour or less!

  • Fits all 2016 - present i4 and v6 Camaros with a manual 6-speed paired to Tremec TR-3160 transmission.
  • Made from solid 6061-t6 aluminum for ultimate durability, corrosion protection, and performance. This metal is specially selected to be softer than the linkage frame, but still last the life of the shifter.
  • Can be installed in 1 hour or less!
  • Patent pending design - customized part for this specific solution
  • Direct replacement using existing transmission linkage hardware.
  • All bushings get an 8-point Quality Check to exact measurements before shipping
  • Updated design in Nov '24 to improve drop-in fitment

Price includes USPS tracked shipping with insurance but excludes Florida resident sales tax.

Even if you choose to install a whole new shifter from GM, the problem will just re-occur until you replace the fragile stock bushings with this upgraded set. We also highly discourage any plastic knock-offs. Cheap plastic is a liability and is what caused the problem! Plastic will stretch, crack, and you'll be back under the car in months replacing it with our solid metal. Just do it right once and save your time, money, and peace of mind.

Feels like I have a close-ratio, short shifter now!

I installed these bushings about 6 days ago. It took my cousin and I a total of 2 hours, ONLY because my Camaro is a 2017 and is located in NE Ohio (damp, crappy weather = hidden corrosion). These conditions basically 'welded' the remains of the factory bushings (just the liners) to the shift pin, making it necessary to remove the whole piece of linkage. In and of itself, this wouldn't have been bad, but the drift-pin holding the linkage to the transmission was also seized (we had to 'make' a center punch out of a 3/16" steel rod, bent into a "Z" and weld a strip of steel to the 'Z' bend to prevent the tool from flexing).

Once we made this 'tool,' it was incredlibly EASY to remove the linkage. Figuring out the need for the tool and actually making it, took over 1-1/2 hours. The remainder of the time < 30 minutes, was spent polishing the drift pin, the shifter rod and their respective places in the linkage. After greasing all the parts liberally, re-installation (including replacing the transmission cross-member) took < 10 minutes.

The results are incredible!

You could probably say that mine was a "worst case" scenario, so I expect most others doing this upgrade to have an easier time, particularly is their car is newer or not having been exposed to a lot of humidity, etc. After doing this, I estimated that without the corrosion, I could have completed the whole thing in under 20 minutes.

I made a 6 minute video of before/during and after, that I hope it helps others doing this mod.

Great Product!!!

Count me as one of the satisfied Customer that saved $2K by purchasing this Shift Link Bushing for my 2017 2LT/RS 50th Anniversary Camaro!

I searched the internet looking for a solution for my "floppy" shifter and came across the post on the Camaro6 forum and the Full Metal Bushing solution. I was concerned I had a major transmission issue but fortunately it was just the bushing and the $100 solution.

Discovered the problem on a Saturday, researched over the same weekend, placed an order on Sunday, received my bushings on Friday, and did the install on Sunday. As others have recommended on this FMB's site and the YouTube videos, definitely research and know what you are dealing with.

I was originally going to take it to a shop but decided to do it myself as did not require any special tools, just patience and knowing what your had to do. I'll admit, reinstalling the clip on the passenger side was a bear and it took considerable time, but the results are excellent!

Prior to my shifter getting floppy, there was rattle/vibration/humming when I would place my hand on the shifter while the car was in motion. All along I thought I had to fix the shifter rattle set screen again but it happened to be the bushing and linkage disintegrating.

Highly recommend this product for anyone with a I4 or V6 Manual Transmission Camaro!!!

Exactly the fix for my car

Install was super easy and works better than the cheap factory part. Would buy again if I didn't think the part will now last the life of the vehicle. Thank you for the fast shipping too!

Old GM Bushings vs New Full Metal Bushings

"WoW. Very absolute perfect fit. Since I had trans and motor out for a rx-8 swap. Took me 5 minutes to remove, lube, and install these fantastic bushings. Thank you."
